I felt like my life was over, and I didn't know how I was going to manage my diabetes. I was also worried about the long-term effects of diabetes, such as heart disease, stroke, and blindness. It took me about 10 years to get over it. Over time, I started to learn more about diabetes, and I began to take control of my condition.
